first major project for 2-d art... took a very very long time. i couldnt get a photo of it and it was too big to scan in one shot, so theres that icky line in the middle. but i think if i tried, i would completely butcher getting rid of the line. so oh well.
based off of something out of a magazine, not sure exactly which... done in colored pencils.

*edit* went back and got rid of the line, thanks to some helpful comments =)

Fruit salad by ~Coyphasma will have everyone running to their kitchens. At first glance you may think it's a photograph. The colors have a strong comfortable feel and are paired with a really nice composition. It simply needs to be seen up close. (Suggested by ~Forever-AstridHekate and Featured by `oedalis)

Looks good but a little tip about the scan: Scan it in three parts and "fuse" the three layers together in Photoshop. In essence what I mean is that you scan top, middle and bottom and put them in an overlapping order, lower the transparency in the one you want to fit into the other ( check so the details match in the overlapping parts ) like the middle image for example. When you feel that you've got it right, the details in the overlapping and the underlying layer match you pick the eraser ( hardness=0 ) and erase the excessive parts that you dont need, i.e the line and any eventual tones that shouldn't be there. Merge the two layers and then do the same thing again with the third layer. Result= scanline and mistoning free picture. :)

Very nice! You don't see a whole lot of traditional still-lifes anymore. Kudos!
